A legitimate airdrop does not need your wallet's seed phrase or private key.

Your seed phrase effectively provides control over your wallet. Anyone who obtains it may be able to recreate the wallet elsewhere and access its assets.

No legitimate token claim requires you to reveal this information.

Beware of Tokens That Appear in Your Wallet

Pay particular attention to the domain name. Phishing websites frequently use domains that differ from the legitimate address by only one character.

Bookmarks can also be useful for protocols you use regularly. Visiting a known bookmark is safer than repeatedly searching for a project's website and potentially clicking a malicious advertisement or imitation result.

Consider Using a Separate Wallet

Users who frequently explore new decentralized applications sometimes separate their activities across multiple wallets.

For example, a primary wallet might hold long-term assets while another wallet contains only the funds required for experimental interactions.

This does not eliminate risk, but it can reduce the potential damage if the experimental wallet interacts with a malicious contract.

The principle is similar to not carrying everything you own in your physical wallet.

Check What You Are Signing

Wallet interfaces increasingly provide information about transactions and permissions before they are signed.

If you expected to claim an airdrop but the wallet is requesting an unexpected approval, transfer, or permission, do not proceed until you understand why.
