With the current BTC drain that is happening to cold wallets, I figured I would add tighter security to our wallets, even though there isn't a fiat value right now and it would be pointless to attack, I still want to do all I can to protect any future values you guys are currently accumulating.
PLEASE USE ONLY THE OFFICIAL ETH II WALLET FROM MY GITHUB, OR YOUR OWN TRUSTED METAMASK ACCOUNT.
DO NOT USE UNKNOWN OR OTHER 3RD PARTY WALLETS...
This isn't a "must do today" type of update, the current wallets are very secure, this just adds a few more layers of protection.
**IMPORTANT** NEVER select “Create Wallet” or “Import Wallet” during a routine update. After an update, log in to your wallet normally and open it at least once before trying to Create or Import.
All of your funds will remain on your current wallet addresses, nothing changes there.
Your current Private Keys and passwords also still work.
You will not be forced to change address, update passwords, generate new 24 word pass phrases.
*A notification when a newer stable wallet version is available.
*The installed and available version numbers in that notification.
*A choice to open the official download or be reminded next launch.
*Automatic locking after 10 minutes of inactivity.
*A password prompt when sending funds, even if the wallet is already open.
*Stronger password requirements for newly created or imported wallets.
*Support for importing either a private key or a 12/24-word recovery phrase.
*Existing shorter passwords remain valid. *Users are not forced to change their password.
